Managing your labour rates

Labour rates in YourTradeBase let you set pre-defined rates of labour for use when pricing paperwork.

Labour rates are based on a cost per hour, and can be used to setup standard rates for you, your workforce, or contractors you use.

By pre-setting different rates of labour, you can price required labour into your quotes or invoices quickly.

You will find your labour rates in the Labour rates section of your settings.

Adding rates of labour to YourTradeBase

Here’s how to add labour rates to use within your services price lists and paperwork:

  1. Visit Labour rates within your settings menu (via the cogs at the top-right of your screen)
  2. Click the ‘Add a labour rate’ button

  1. Enter a description for the labour rate. This could be your ‘standard hourly labour’ charge, an ‘out-of-hours rate’, or the name of a worker or sub-contractor’s rate.
  2. Enter an hourly price for this labour. This price can include any markup you want to add.
  3. Click ‘Save this labour rate

This labour rate will now appear in your list of labour rates and will be available to select whilst setting up your services price list or costing quotes or invoices.

New labour rates you enter when costing paperwork will also be auto-saved for future use and will be displayed in this list of labour rates.

Managing your labour rates

You can update the descriptions or hourly price for your labour rates by:

  1. Visit your Labour rate settings
  2. Click the blue pencil edit icon next to the rate you want to update
  3. Update details as required
  4. Click ‘Update this labour rate’ to save your changes

To delete a labour rate:

  1. Visit your Labour rate settings
  2. Click the red trashcan icon next to the labour rate you want to remove
  3. You will be asked if you’re sure you want to delete the labour rate (it cannot be undone once deleted!), if you click OK, the labour rate will be deleted from your labour rate list and no longer be available when creating or editing paperwork.

Auto-save labour rates

Any new labour rates you enter into your quotes or invoices (via the labour panel used when costing) are auto-saved to your labour rates when saved.

New labour rates must have a description and hourly rate to be auto-saved to your labour rates.

Once auto-saved, these labour rates are available to quickly select for future paperwork.
